pfSolutions, founded by Paula Fischer, is a consulting practice focused on working with business owners to improve and enhance their operation, increase revenue and provide a great place for people to work. With over 20 years of professional experience focused on business development, Paula has developed a keen understanding of the challenges faced in the business world today. She can help your organization pinpoint weak areas and find solutions so that your organization can run more efficiently and effectively.

Paula graduated valedictorian of her high school class and magna cum laude from the University of Rhode Island with a degree in Psychology and Communication. Her career began in mortgage banking as an underwriter, where she quickly learned

the business of real estate lending and secondary marketing. Within her first year she designed a training program to help loan originators pre-qualify mortgage applicants and become more successful in their closing ratios.

Her reputation in the mortgage industry resulted in an opportunity to open a branch office for a California Savings and Loan in Richmond, Virginia. Within a year, the Richmond branch was number two in the country for mortgage closings.

As the real estate market softened in the late ‘80s and companies were downsizing, Paula relocated to Connecticut where she earned her designation as a Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC) and pursued a career as a retirement planning specialist. Her focus was helping corporate executives and managers cope with the loss of their long term careers, offering motivational and financial counseling.

In the mid ‘90s, Paula was offered a once in a lifetime opportunity with the NHL to serve as Business Development Manager for the Hartford Whalers Hockey Club (now known as the Carolina Hurricanes). Despite the team’s declining popularity during the ’95-’96 season, Paula’s strategic marketing plan and persistence resulted in over one million dollars of corporate sponsorship sales.

While mourning Hartford’s loss of the Whalers, another incredible offer to join the PGA TOUR as Director of Sales and Marketing for the Tournament Players Club (TPC) at River Highlands in Cromwell, CT presented itself. Paula dedicated nine years to the TPC at River Highlands to grow its membership while improving member satisfaction and public and media relations.

Her commitment to the community includes serving as Board Member of the Middlesex County Chamber of Commerce, Cromwell High School Partners in Education (PIE) Program, The Children’s Home of Cromwell, and fueled by her passion for animal welfare, Our Companions Domestic Animal Sanctuary, www.OurCompanions.org.

Paula is member of the West Hartford Art League (WHAL) and would like to invite you to view some of her work at www.paulasartstudio.com. Select paintings and photographs of hers have been exhibited at the Clubhouse Gallery, Saltbox Gallery and ArtWalk in West Hartford Center.
